Now that we are into the New Year with our good intentions, fresh faces, and open arms I’m delighted to share that I will be co-leading a tour of Ireland this October! Time flies as we all know since we flipped another calendar over this past week, and I know that many of us want to plan and prioritize all the wonder that travel can bring. I hope that in sharing this trip, you will be given a great option to further your adventures this year.
I think Ireland, with its magical landscape, ancient faith, and rich cultural and literary attractions, will spark a flame of joy for those of us who can go on this trip. I’m so happy to be leading this tour with the lovely
of the incredible substack and podcast. Katie is such a smart woman who writes beautifully and truly appreciates the good and the beautiful in this world. I think we’ll be so blessed to travel with her! This trip is being run with Select International, the same company I went to England with in 2022, and the experience was really exceptional. I thought tours were stuffy and boring and then I went on one and realized that they do all the hard work of planning a trip and all you have to do is have fun with amazing people!
So those are the broad strokes, all the details can be found here at the brochure, but here are some of the amazing places we’ll be going:
Irish Wisdom and Wonder October 2-11, 2024
Our Lady of Knock shrine
Croagh Patrick where we will climb in the footsteps of St. Patrick
The cinematic village of Cong, where The Quiet Man was filmed
Cliffs of Moher
Rock of Cashel
Holy Cross Abbey
Dublin - including a literary pub crawl
tours of a whiskey distillery, Irish coffee making demonstrations, and of course, the Guinness Factory tour
These are just some of the highlights that I can’t wait to get to in Ireland. I really want this tour to be a wonderful combination of witnessing the rich history and power of our faith, experiencing the magical beauty of the Irish countryside, and a fun time enjoying the tastes, culture, and literary treasure Ireland has to offer.
Walking in St. Patrick’s footsteps, seeing the ruins of abbeys built by the Irish monastic tradition, and being in the very place that Mary, St. Joseph, and St. John the Baptist appeared to Irish faithful will be a truly amazing experience and I think a powerful moment to deepen your faith.
I know that this type of travel is a big investment, it takes planning, lots of scheduling, and if you have kids, a lot of cashing in of babysitting points to figure out how to get away for ten days! But I can vouch for the fact that travelling at any point or season of life is really the biggest gift. Visiting a new place, seeing new things are so good for the soul. The fact that these tours bring together fantastic people are what makes the travel even more rewarding, and knowing each other makes the memories of these fantastic sites live on. I really hope you’ll consider this trip.
I’ll stop here for now, but I would really appreciate and encourage you to check out all the details in the brochure. Pray about it. Talk about it with your friends and husband. Maybe get your friends and husband to come along with you! I really think this could be our year of Irish magic!
Praying, praying, praying I can make it work to be on this pilgrimage! It would be so fun to travel with you again, Christy!
So excited to travel with you Christy!
